PET is a hard, stiff, strong, dimensionally stable material that absorbs very little water. It can be highly transparent and colourless but thicker sections are usually opaque and off-white. It can be combined with stainless steel to produce a metallized film that is used in a range of applications from the automotive industry to interior design. Metallized films applied to metal substrates provide a finish that is extremely durable. Not only functional, these highly decorative films offer a tough and resilient surface that is scratch, abrasion and corrosion resistant. Also, they don’t tarnish or wear and are resistant to most household cleaners. The metallic effects are available in a wide range of finishes including silver, gold, pewter and copper.
